Needed Foundation Repair After Moving In To My Home

Before I bought my home, I had to have it inspected. The inspection came back clear, but about 6 months after moving in I found that there was a crack in the foundation. I'm not sure how the inspector missed this crack, but it was going to need fixed. After talking to a few different people, I was told I would need to look for a contractor that specializes in foundation repair Austin Texas. I was able to find someone that could repair it for me. I haven't had any other problems with it.

Foundation Repairs Are Needed When These Signs Appear

If you see that your windows, doors and closets don't shut tightly, or you find cracks in your basement or foundation walls, you might be in need of a foundation repair job. Go to foundation repair Austin for more info.

When the earth underneath the foundation of our home settles, then the entire house can be in jeopardy from that action. Sandy soil, clay soil, and underground water can cause this to occur. If this is the case, then you should call a foundation specialist to come and inspect your foundation.

If there is a problem, then an excavation can be dug underneath your foundation, while supporting it with jacks. The foundation can then be jacked up to its original level.

When that is secure, concrete or metal piers can be inserted with their base resting on bedrock, concrete poured platforms or steel bedding. This procedure will usually place additional support under the foundation so it will be secure for a long time to come.

Clay soil is a particularly pesky soil on which to build a home, as it moves as it gets too wet or too dry. It will expand when it gets too wet and shrinks when it gets too dry.
